Here is the one shot I caught this morning of a Quadrantids meteor. Shot from our backyard. OK so this one is more appropriate to the season. Ho Ho Ho! Margo and I in the stands at the Cowboys vs Bucs game in Tampa last night.
Here is the official "as you walk in the park photo" from mine and Melissa Hay's day at Busch Garden. My first attempt to photograph the Milky Way. 10 exposures of 30 seconds each then stacked. I post edited the picture to darken the exposure and used a blue tint to highlight the Milky Way which is in the lower half of the picture. You can see the dark area that is trademark Milky Way as well. I am going to have to play with this some more. This is a 70 second exposure of the International Space Station passing over our backyard in Jacksonville, Florida.
I found a decent shot on the day of my retirement to show the progress from then until now - 9 weeks later. Photos are three weeks apart. Very surreal to see the changes after 29 years of short hair! Here is my 3, 6 and 9 week comparison for hair and beard growth after my retirement from the Navy. Here is the sign from Hay Street in old downtown Fayetteville, NC. I left it on the pole!
OK - here is the sign from Hay Street - I left it on the pole though :-) We had a different visitor last night - a fairly large raccoon! Amongst all the awesome things I was presented today and honored with I must share one of them real quick before we head out for the afternoon and evening. This flag and mission patch flew aboard DISCOVERY last April on the STS-131 Mission to the International Space Station. I was floored to say the least. Photos of the other awesome things to follow once we catch our breath.
My current ride. Margo and I heading into Disney's Magic Kingdom for our second evening at Night of Joy. Listened to Britt Nicole, Third Day and MercyMe. They were all awesome but MercyMe was especially superb to close out the night and weekend.
