Easter Sunday Motorcycle Ride

posted in: All Posts (Tags: , , ) - No Comments

Since we attended the Easter Vigil Mass on Saturday night it gave us an free day on Sunday and we decided to take a ride on the Harley. The weather has definitely shifted to Spring and very warm and sunny so that would also make for a great day.

So we met up with a couple we have ridden with before, Dave and Paige, and headed to Saint Augustine. Our destination was Zhanra’s.  This is an awesome restaurant and on Sunday’s they offer a Brunch Buffet for $10 that is unbeatable.

Afterwards we headed South on US 1 towards Ormond Beach and what is know to motorcycle riders as The Loop. This is a superb ride that goes around the intra-coastal waterway alongside of Tomoka State Park.  The return route comes along the beach and returns you to your starting point.

Our specific destination was the Fairchild Oak.

After we visited the Fairchild Oak we headed up the road a few miles and got on I-95 heading North.  We came off of I-95 at the World Golf Village and made a quick stop for gear adjustments.  We were treated to a juvenile bald eagle sitting up in a tree who was molting.  He was massive and a beautiful site.

We then climbed back on the bikes and continued our ride home.  We waved farewell to Dave and Paige as we turned off of US 17 for our final few miles home.

It was a great way to celebrate the Risen Christ and the gift God gave us in his Son.
